Martin House Bed & Breakfast is located in Lancaster County on the Ephrata Mountain. A quiet haven away from the hustle 'n bustle of life, yet only minutes away from major highways.

Accommodations

Located in a semi-secluded wooded area, our home has three comfortable guest rooms with private baths, including a Family Suite that sleeps six to eight people, complete with kitchen. There are comfortable King or Queen-size beds in all rooms. A large private hot tub accompanies one room. Features include central air-conditioning for year round comfort, and seating areas for reading and relaxation. Our goal is to make you feel at home and to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. Smoking is permitted outside on our back deck. We request no alcoholic beverages and no pets please.

Breakfast

A full breakfast awaits you in the morning. You will find fresh fruit in season, a hot entrée and for dessert, you might find homemade shoo-fly pie, muffins or tea breads.

Reservations and Rates

An advanced deposit of one night's lodging is required with all reservations. Check-in is between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., unless prior arrangements have been made. Check-out is at 11 a.m. Visa and MasterCard accepted. No pets please. There is a no smoking, no alcoholic beverages policy. Rates range from $75.00 - $115.00. Special rates are available for a stay of three or more nights, excluding holidays. Cancellation must be made 24 hours in advance or you may be subject to a one night rate charge.

Area Attractions

In our town of Ephrata, you can visit Historic Ephrata Cloister; a restored 18th century religious communal society. Or visit the Green Dragon Farmers' Market where you will find an abundance of everything from produce to livestock year-round. Also in downtown Ephrata is the newly opened Brossman Business Complex, housing a movie theater, a live stage theater and a fine restaurant. The Doneckers complex is also downtown, featuring fine fashion stores, fine dining, a farmers market and the Artworks.

The surrounding Amish countryside offers things to see and do year-round. Antiquing, outlet shopping, Amish country farm land, are all nearby.

Spring brings the auction season. Bid on a handmade quilt or antiques. This is a great time to hike at nearby Middle Creek Wildlife Preserve.

In Summer, an abundance of roadside stands selling fresh home-grown produce, antique markets, bicycle tours and open-air concerts.

When Fall comes around, you can celebrate the harvest with festivals, street fairs and craft shows. From mid- to late-October, come to see the colorful show of leaves over the farmlands and woodlands of Lancaster County.

Winter is a great time for holiday shopping at many outlet centers in the area. Find bargains on quilts, handmade toys, sweaters, and anything else on your list!

Or think of us as a home base to venture further out to HersheyPark and Chocolate World, only a 45-minute drive away. Or Gettysburg, Philadelphia, Valley Forge, Longwood Gardens -- all less than two hours away.

We would be happy to assist you in selecting one of the many fine restaurants in the area for dinner. Or maybe you would enjoy a traditional Amish dinner. We can tell you where one is available. (Amish dinner reservations recommended with room reservations.)

After a day of activities, you may come home, kick off your shoes and relax in comfortable seating in the common room. You will find a TV, books, and reading lamps. A large deck is also available where you can bird watch as you view the landscape.

From PA Turnpike - Take Exit 21 to Route 222 South to 322 West. Travel 1 mile to traffic light at Bethany Road. Just beyond light, turn right onto Ridge Avenue. In 3/4 mile, you will see the Martin House sign on the right.

From Lancaster - Take 222 North to 322 West. Travel 1 mile to traffic light at Bethany Road. Just beyond light, turn right onto Ridge Avenue. In 3/4 mile, you will see the Martin House sign on the right.
