Park, Ho Sun was accepted in the elite gambling circles at the Casino because she was very wealthy and gambled for big money three or four nights a week. She usually won. She would play the games where she had some control. She was a canny poker player and won more often than not at blackjack. I believe she counted cards and bet heavily when the deck was rich in 10 value cards and lighter when it was not. That was before the casinos were using multiple decks and card boxes. She sat at the table with us, with her immense diamond and emerald rings and bracelets and the man's gold Rolex which she wore. She told us that a good gambler didn't have to cheat. She could win by proper play.

To make a long story short, she told us that she had even figured out how to improve her odds when playing the lottery. Nobody at the table was willing to believe that. She offered to bet any or all of us 100,000 won each that she could do so, and would submit her system to the table for a vote to decide if her system would work. Three of the men took up her bet and each put their 100,000 won on the table, which she covered. The 600,000 won was worth about $2,400 US at that time.

Miss Park laid out her system on the back of the manuscript pages I had brought to show the Casino manager. When she was done explaining it, we all understood how logical it was.
